EDNA COPLEY, 83, of Fort Wayne died Saturday in Parkview Memorial Hospital.

The Muskegon, Mich., was former deputy examiner of Muskegon Heights Police Department and secretary in the Muskegon Heights School District.

She was the widow of John M. Balas, who died in 1953, and Richard C. Copley, who died in 1993.

Surviving are daughters, Mary A. Emerson of Fort Wayne, Betty L. Mitchell of San Antonio, Edna C. Balas-Sabin of LaJolla, Calif., and Nancy J. Steffen of Cupertino, Calif.; sisters, Eleanor Sikkenga of Montague, Mich., Anna Buckingham of Glenview, Ill., and Julia Fox of Chicago; a brother, Robert Todd of Montague; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Memorial services are 2 p.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements are by D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes.
