"The Last of Her Family"
"Mrs. Sarah M. Mack died at the residence of John B. McEwen, Esq., in Franklin, Sunday night, aged 79 years, 11 months and 1 day. The funeral services will be conducted at the Christian Church by Elder David Lipscomb this morning and the remains will be sent to Columbia for interment. This venerable and esteemed lady was the widow of the late Judge Mack, of Columbia, and sister of the late Hon. Aaron V. Brown. She was the last survivor of the Brown family."
-The Tennessean, May 8, 1877
NOTE: The information above indicates that Sarah died on Sunday night although her stone indicates that she died on May 7th. That like means she died after midnight on Sunday night which of course would have made it early Monday morning. If she did indeed die on the 7th and the age provided in the death notice is accurate, then that means she was born on or near Tuesday, June 6, 1797.
