He was a retired supervisor for the United States Postal Service and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he served as the chairman of Deacon Board, superintendent of Sunday School and the Harvest Ministry, and was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Hillside, N.J.
He was predeceased by parents, Louis and Carrie Johnson. Also, he was predeceased by a sister, Helen Timmons,
He leaves to mourn for him a loving wife, 3 sons and 2 daughters, two brother and special 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren
A celebration of his life was at Emmanuel Baptist Church and Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Hillside, NJ.
