Richard Jennings was garage owner

Richard J Jennings, 57, of Ponakin Road and operated Jennigs Garage on Berlin Street for the past 15 years, died friday night at Clinton Hospital.

He leaves his wife Frances L(Hatstat)Jennings; three sons, Gregory R Jennings of Berlin, Gary R and Glen R Jennings both of Lancaster; a daughter, Gayle R Jennings of Lancaster; his mother, Bertha A(Bach)Jennings of Lancaster; two sisters, Irene Haloviak of Vailsgate, NY and Frances Hunt of Northboro; three grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Rock Tavern, NY and lived in Lancaster for 45 years. His father was the late Charles R Jennings. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Mr Jennings was a member of the James R Kirby Post American Legion of Clinton and a former member of the Clinton Turn Verein. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Funeral services were held yesterday at the James E Watson and Sons Funeral Home, 149 Water St. Clinton, with Rev. William Dubocq of the Evangelical Congregational Church of Lancaster officiating.

Burial was in Eastwood Cemetery on Old Common Road in Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Congregational Church of Lancaster Memorial Fund, Main Street, Lancaster.
