She was born on March 25, 1911 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Constance (Zamiar) Szczepaniak. Mrs. Mendralla and her late husband Walter owned and operated a tavern business and she was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Johnsburg, Illinois.
Survivors include 2 nephews, Ed (Susan) Carfora of Chicago, Illinois; Eugene Szczepaniak of South Chicago, Illinois; 1 brother-in-law, Frank (Helen) Mendralla of Grayslake, Illinois; 1 sister-in-law, Ann Rybak of Schaumburg, Illinois; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews survive.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Walter with whom she was united in marriage on June 28, 1930, and by 6 brothers-in-law and 2 sisters-in-law.
Friends of the family may call from 6-9 PM, Monday, July 24, 1995 at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral Home, 12 N. Pistakee Lake Rd., Fox Lake, Illinois (The Chapel On The Lake). A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at St. John's Catholic Church in Johnsburg, Illinois. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
