U.S. Congressman. Born on Shawnee Run, near Harrodsburg, Kentucky, he served as a Lieutenant in the US Army during the War of 1812. After the war, he was involved in several local political offices, studied law, was admitted to the bar and commenced to practice law in Hartford, Ohio. Moving back to Kentucky, he served as a member of the Kentucky State House of Representatives. In 1823, he was elected as an Adams-Clay Republican to the Eighteenth Congress, serving until 1825. After his term he resumed the practice of law in Owensburg, Kentucky, until his death at age 47.
