Joe was born in 1903 to Ira Lowe (1868-1907) of Austria, and Anna Lillian Lindauer (1873-1956) of New York. Anna's parents were Charles Frederick Lindauer (1835-1921) and Anna Augusta Kershaw (1841-1931). Ira Lowe was a bigamist who had cheated his first wife out of half of the two houses she owned.

In 1910 Joe and his mother, now a widow were living at 209 Locust Avenue in Rye, Westchester County, New York with Anna's parents. In 1929 Joe was engaged to marry a pretty woman who is labeled in the family pictures as his fiance.

Marriage:
At some point Joe married Mary Buchman (1903-1972) who had previously been married to Max Friese. When Max died Mary inherited some money, and a house on Cape Cod, where Joe eventually lived until 1979.

Death:
He was living at Shining Tides, Briar Springs Lane, East Orleans, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Whether he died on Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, Massachusetts. He had no children.

"Joseph Lowe a former longtime Rye resident died Monday at Cape Cod Hospital Hyannis, Massachusetts. A resident of Friendship Lane Brewster, Massachusetts, he was 75. Son of the late Ira nd Anna Lindauer Lowe, he was bornin New York City on September 9, 1903. His wife, Mary Friese Lowe predeceased him in 1972. Son of the late Ira and Anna Lowe, he was born in New York City on September 9, 1903. His wife, Mary Friese Lowe, predeceased him in 1972. Joe Lowe married Mary Friese. Max Friese passed away and Joe married her. They lived in an apartment on Hyland Ridge Lane They used to make movies in Mamarick, New York before the movies moved to Hollywood. Max was very sick and had to be helped in bed. Mary and Joe got married and they moved to Cape Cod. They both died on the cape. Max Friese, Mary Buchman was his wife. Any money they had came from Max Friese when he died. The had a house on Cape Cod in Massachusetts that belonged to him. They both died there and are buried in Rye, New York. I'm on the board of the cemetery.
