Chico Enterprise-Record, Tuesday, October 9, 1990: Alvah Earle. A memorial service for Alvah Frank Earle, 82, of Chico will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Trinity United Methodist Church. He died Saturday, Oct. 6, 1990, in a Chico convalescent hospital.

"Earle was born April 9, 1908, in Antioch to Alvah and Bertha Earle. Following the death of his father in 1914, he moved with his family to Chico. Earle attended Chico area schools and then moved out of the area to work. In 1939 he returned to Chico and married Helen Howland. For 50 years he worked in the clothing business. He worked in retail clothing sales, first with Sid Livingston and later with the Kauffmans. In 1973 he went into semi-retirement and fully retired in 1980. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling.

"Earle was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Native Sons of the Golden West and the Knights of Pythias.

"In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jeanine Strawser of Chico and Janice Kuykendall of Sacramento; two sisters, Carita Hannen of Lancaster and Lois Knibb of Sacramento; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

"The Rev. Bill Marx of Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Glen Oaks Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church or the National Kidney Foundation in care of the Brusie Funeral Home, which is handling the arrangements."

Mother is Bertha Mae (nee Adamson) Earle Covey. He was the sibling of Alvah Ralph Earle.
