Harvey R. Grossnickle, well-known farmer of near Myersville, died at his home Monday evening, aged 74.
The son of the late William H. and Martha Ellen (Routzahn) Grossnickle, of Myersville, he was a former teacher in Frederick County and was a member of the Soil Conservation Board for the Catoctin District. He also served as an election official for the Jackson District for a number of years and was a member of the Church of the Brethren of Myersville and teacher of the Men's Bible Class.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Alta (Harshman) Grossickle, he is survived by daughter, Mrs. Grayson Dob, Myersville; sons, Harold E., Bridgeville, Dela., and Joseph M., Middletown; sister, Mrs. Roy Leatherman, Frederick; brother, Foster E. Grossnickle, Nutley, N.J., and five grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Gladhill Funeral Home, Middletown. It will lie in state at the Church of the Brethren, Myersville from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at 2:30 by the Rev. Samuel Lindsay. Interment will be in the U.B. Cemetery, Myersville.

Largely attended funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Myersville Church of the Brethren for Harvey Grossnickle of near Myersville. Rev. Samuel Lindsey was assisted by Rev. Robert Strickler. Members of the Soil Conservation Board attended in a body. Pallbearers were Grayson Cartee, Glenn and Upton W. Grossnickle, James R. Harne, Howard Metzger and John Cline. Interment was in the United Brethren cemetery at Myersville. The Gladhill Co., funeral directors.
