Clarence W. Jost, 42, of Hika, died at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, this morning after a lingering illness.

He was born Sept. 13, 1912, in the town of Meeme, a son of Paul and Anna Jost. On April 25, 1936, he was united in marriage to Clara Mrotek. The couple resided in the town of Centerfield, later moving to Hika where Mr. Jost had been an employee of the Manitowoc county highway department for 13 years prior to his illness. He was a member of the St. Wendel Catholic Church and also a member of the Men's Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include the widow; three sons, his mother, Mrs. Anna Jost, Manitowoc; three brothers, Frederick, of Bluffton, Ind., William, of Kiel, and Harold, of Manitowoc Rapids; three sisters, Mrs. Raymond Funk, Two Rivers, Mrs. Wilbert Funk, Mishicot, and Mrs. Frank Salkowski, Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel in Cleveland and at 9:30 at St. Wendel Catholic Church. The Rev. Richard Keller will be celebrant of the requiem high mass and burial will be made in the St. Wendel cemetery.

Friends may call at the Stoltenberg Funeral Chapel from 10 o'clock Sunday morning until the hour of services. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 o'clock Sunday evening.
