Mud Meeting House Cemetery--Adjacent to the "Old Mud Meeting House," this cemetery is located in the south western part of Mercer County, off of U.S. Highway 68, on the Dry Branch Pike. Erected in 1800 by a colony of Huguenots and Low Dutch from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, the church is now owned and maintained by the Harrodsburg Historical Society.

"The first Woods family of our line of descent, appear to have landed at Newcastle, Delaware. It was only a short trip to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania where they spent the next ten years. Then under the leadership of Michael Woods they journeyed on horseback down the Indian path, in the Shenandoah Valley, to Goochland (now Albemarle) County, Virginia. Here most of them settled along the eastern Blue Ridge Mountains near the present town of Charlottesville, others settling in nearby Augusta County. We pick up the threads of our proven ancestry at this point. Our Archibald and Mary Woods were living in Albemarle County along with numerous other Woods families.
-"In 1771 Archibald purchased 'Indian Camp Farm' from the McAfee brothers and moved, with his family, to Botetourt County, VA. Following Archibald's death in 1783 six of his grown children and his wife Mary moved to Mercer County, KY. Coming by way of the Wilderness Road through the Cumberland Gap. The other three members remained in VA. with 'Indian Camp Farm' remaining in the possession of the Woods family until recent times." William S. Woods
