Elva Grace (Garman) Brenize, 94, of W. Hanover Twp., was born February 6, 1917 and went to her eternal home in Heaven on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Jewish Home.
She knew the Lord as her personal Savior and was always ready to give an answer as to why she was so sweet, patient, kind, tenderhearted, longsuffering and caring for others. Her lifetime slogan was "Jesus, others and you".
She was a member of Calvary Independent Church.
She was an outstanding hunter and was responsible for shooting 40 deer in her lifetime, some from the tree stand in her backyard.
Grace is survived by a daughter, Sara Jeanne (Jim) Bowman of W. Hanover Twp.; two grandchildren, Dale (Ange) Hanmer of Harrisburg and Darrel (Gina) Hanmer of Dillsburg; three great grandchildren, Rebecca Krasavic and Luke and Samuel Hanmer; a brother, Donald (Joela) Garman of Harrisburg; and two sisters, Violet Reichert of Dauphin and Janet Smith of Harrisburg.
She was the daughter of the late Lorin and Anna (Stouffer) Garman and was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, John S. Brenize, in 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, at Calvary Independent Church, 3201 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17110, with Pastor Norman C. Marks, officiating. Interment will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
