Mr. Brawley had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a crane operator. He later was a self-employed thresher, retiring in 1948.
He was born Sept. 11, 1895, in Westmoreland County, a son of Abram and Ella (Snyder) Brawley, and twice married, first to Lucy Helsel, who died in February 1935, and then March 6, 1952, in Frederick, MD to Viola Mock.
Surviving are his wife, 12 children, Glenda at home, Dewey of Duncansville, Howard of Bellwood, Donald of Brookes Mills, Paul of Jackson, Mich., Mrs. Joan Snyder of Hohllidaysburg, Mrs. Betty Thomas of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Martha Heaton of Altoona, Mrs. Catherine Ott of Loop Station, Hollidaysburg RD, Mrs. Virginia Heaton of Buffalo. NY, Mrs. Florence Appleman of Martinsburg and Mrs. Ella Dively of Claysburg; 33 grandchildren, and a great-grancchild.
Mr. Brawley was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Friends will be received in the Haller Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
