Mrs. Harold (Viola L.) Carstens, 69, of 640 S. 30th St., Manitowoc, died Monday, Oct. 17, at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Glenn Unke will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mrs. Carstens was born May 20, 1914, in the Town of Cato, daughter of the late Carl and Pauline Christensen Sorenson. She married Harold Carstens on Dec. 23, 1936, at Gjerpen Lutheran Church, Town of Cato. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Harold; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Roman Gaedtke and Jenny and Gale Windus of Manitowoc; a brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Mildred Sorenson of the Town of Cato; a sister, Arleen Pech, of Manitowoc; nine grandchildren; a son-in-law, Charles Waniger of Manitowoc; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Waniger.

Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and then at the church from noon to the time of services.
