Lorenza "L.D." Parks Jr., 88, married for 67 years to Joyce Munson Parks, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011.
He was born in Shelby County to Lorenza D. Parks Sr. and Grace Gatliffe Parks on June 23, 1923.
He was an insurance adjuster and was a member of Gardenside Christian Church in Lexington. He is survived by his wife; a very dear friend, Pat Whitten; and two nieces, Rebecca McClanahan and Linda Wise. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens with Minister Charlie Delaney and Minister Dean Brewer officiating.
