Stroke is Fatal For Applegate Man
Applegate, Sept. 20-Funeral services were held Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Pilgrim Holiness Church for Omar D. Willis,65, who died Monday at his home here. Rev. Howard Mills, Owosso and Rev. Lawrence Neff, pastor of the church officiated and interment was made in Washington cemetery.
Mr. Willis was born Sept. 19, 1873 in Applegate, and except for a few years in Detroit, had spent his entire life in this community, where he was well and and favorably known. He had been ill a few days, suffering a stroke.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Omar Willis, four sons, Emery and Mark Willis, Detroit, William Willis, Flint, and Keith, Applegate, two daughter, Miss Charlotte Willis, Detroit, and Mrs. Norris Davis, Applegate; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Dickinson, Memphis, aand Mrs. Walter Cummings, Croswell.

Omar D Willis, 65, passed away Friday at the family residence here after suffering a stroke Thursday. Funeral services were held Monday from the Pilgrim Holiness Church at 2:00 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Howard T. Mills, assisted by the Rev. Lawrence R. Neff, pastor of the church, and interment was made in the Washington cemetery. the deceased is survived by his widow and four sons, Mark and Emery Willis, both of Detroit, William Willis, of Flint, and Keith Willis of Applegate, and two daughters, Mrs. Norris Davis of Applegate, and Miss Charlotte Willis, Detroit, and two sister, Mrs. Walter Cummings, of Croswell and Mrs. Lucy Dickinson, of Memphis, and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
