Mother of seventeen children, of whom ten lived to adulthood. Known for her wit and beauty she was known as "the belle of Baltimore." She died at the home of the Hon. Z. Chandler in Detroit, of debility. Daughter of Mr. McElderry and Elizabeth Parks. She married, May 18, 1815, George Douglass.
