Charles V. Galle, age 70, of Mineral Point, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 19, 1987 at Memorial Hospital in Dodgeville. He was born on April 1, 1917, in Mineral Point, the son of Joseph and Mary (Valenti) Galle. He operated several Mineral Point businesses, a filling station, a restaurant and cheese and liquor store. He married the former Doris Bollerud in 1941, and they had been Mineral Point residents since 1943. He was a past member of the Mineral Point Volunteer Fire Department and past Assistant Iowa County Coroner and Deputy Sheriff. He was a member of the Mineral Point Chamber of Commerce and was active and supportive in community activities. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Terry of Palatine, Illinois, David (Patti) of Irving, Texas, Steven (Diane) of Valapariso, Indiana, and Tim of Miami, Florida; two daughters, Judy Harris of Dodgeville, and Mary Jo of Madison; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph (Agnes) of Milwaukee, and Bruno (Marian) of Mineral Point; six sisters, Rose Leary and Lena Ceniti, both of Mineral Point, Rosella (Olindo) Di Santis of Milwaukee, Mary Galle of Milwaukee, Josephine Galle of Mineral Point and Bernice (Paul) Erb of Blanchardville; and also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Nicky and Vito. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, May 23,1987, at the TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH,in Mineral Point. Father J. Robert Hector will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the GORGEN FUNERAL HOME in Mineral Point. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given.
