The Huntsville Times, Huntsville, Alabama, Wednesday, May 18, 1938. Fayetteville, Tenn. Funeral services for J. M. Riley, 68, who died Monday at his home at Flintville following a two-months’ illness, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Shady Grove Church with the Rev. J. M. Nea officiating. Burial was in the churchyard.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beulah Walker Riley; three daughters, Mrs. James Pogue of Alabama, and Misses Ruth and Annie Riley of Lincoln County; eight sons, Ellis Riley of Hammond, Ind.; Roy, John, R. A., Thomas, Ernest, Eugene and O. Riley, all of Lincoln County; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Norman, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. W. I. Syler and Mrs. N. A. Frame, of Flintville; and a brother, George Riley of California. Provided by Peggy D. Swift.
