JESSE M. ALLEN

Jesse M. Allen, 96, of 609 N. Harpham St., Havana, IL died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 1988, at the Havana Healthcare Center.

Born February 27, 1891, in Fulton County to Robert and Viola Young Brown, she married Lawrence Alexander in January 1909. He died in March 1922.

She later married Edgar Allen in July 1939. He died in 1980. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Albert Alexander of Pasadena, CA, and Jack Alexander of Topeka; two daughters, Mrs. John (Laurene) Taylor and Mrs. Paul (Beverly) Jones, both of Havana; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Brown of Havana.

She was a member of the Central Christian Church of Havana and she had been a candy dipper.

Graveside services were Tuesday at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana, IL. The Rev. William Robison officiated.

Memorials may be made to the Havana Healthcare Center.

Hurley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
