The son of Richard F. Jones (b. 1872, d. 1979) and Mary Ellen Jones (b. 1871, d. 1944) of Lake Crystal Minnesota.
His siblings were: Leslie Owen Jones (b. 1897, d. 1984), Emrys Machno Jones (b. 1899, d. 1976), Benjamin Jay Jones (b. 1902, d, 1987), Edwin L. Jones (b.1903, d. 1989), Ralph Foulkes Jones (b. 1907, d. 1999) and Laura Ellen (Jones) Jenkins (b. 1913, d. 2002).
Known to family and friends by his middle name "Pierce". Pierce enilisted in the US Army June 21st, 1917. Pierce was placed in the 350 Ambulance Company, 88th Army Division in the US Army Medical Corps. He beacme an ambulance driver and was stationed in Belfort France which became his main ambulance base. In combat he had two ambulances shot out from under him. Before and after his service in WWI, he was involved in banking. Pierce married Grace Lane on June 8, 1921. They raised one son, Ferris Lane Jones (b. 1922, d. 1964). Upon the untimely death of both Ferris and his wife Bette Jane (Tollefson) Jones (b. 1923, d. 1961), Pierce and his Grace raised their three Grand Children: Gregory L. Jones, Robbin K. Jones and Gretchen S. Jones (Buffy). Pierce retired as a bank officer. He was a leader in the local Minnesota Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and a proud and cheerful American Patriot.
