JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ind. - Dawn R. (Anderson) Rogers, 46, Jackson Township died Saturday (December 22, 2001) at her home.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, with Pastor Ron Larson officiating Burial will be in the Chesterton Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Rogers was born January 8, 1955, in Valparaiso to Robert D. and Jacqueline (August) Anderson, who survive in Chesterton. On December 7, 1980, in Las Vegas, Nev., she married Larry W. Rogers, who survives in Jackson Township.
Survivors include one, Lindsay Rogers, Jackson Township; one sister, Debbie (Troy) Lenburg, Liberty Township; one brother-in-law, Ted Pliske, Jackson Township; one step daughter, Alison Rogers, New York; nieces and nephews, Kirk and Stefanie Pliske, Nicole Lenburg, and Brian and Chad Krieter; and a dedicated friend, Jeannie Allan, R.N., who traveled from Houston, Texas to be a 24-hour care giver to Mrs. Rogers in her last days.
One sister, Cheryl L. Pliske preceded her in death.
A life long resident Mrs. Rogers was also a life long member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Chesterton. She was a 1973 graduate of Chesterton High School and a 1975 graduate of Purdue University. A Registered Nurse, she was a former head nurse of the Emergency Department of Porter Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Rogers was entering her eleventh year as a member of the Duneland School Board.
