Injuries Prove Fatal To Farm Worker After Fall From Mow
St. Wendel - Nic Weiter, 48, of near Cleveland, passed away at St. Nicolas Hospital Thursday at 11:30 a.m. of injuries sustained in a fall from his hay mow at his farm home Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Mr. Weiter was born Oct 9, 1896, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nic Weiter, Sr., of Cleveland. He attended parochial school at St. Wenden and then worked on his parents' farm.
He was married Oct 9, 1923, to Julia Wesling of St. Nazainz, and he purchased the farm homestead from his parents and operated that farm since.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Bernice and Lorraine, both at home; a brother John of Milwaukee, three sisters, Mrs. Herman Endries of Reedsville, Mrs. Frank Tribek and Mrs. James Tribek of Manitowoc. His parents and three children preceded him in death.
Mr. Weiter was an active and faithful member of St. Wendel congregation, the Holy Name society, Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and a trustee of the parish for the past five years. He possessed a pleasing personality and enjoyed a large circle of friends.
The body was taken to the Nenning Funeral home at St. Wendel from where services will be at 9 a.m. At 9:30 a.m. services will be held at the St. Wendel Catholic church, with Fr. Joseph Schaefer officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Saturday evening until the time of services.
The rosary will be said at the funeral home Saturday at ? p.m.
