Betty Lou Holb (nee Mittlelstead) died peacefully in her home at Meadow Ridge in Redding, CT on September 19, 2011.

Born on Valentine's Day, 1925, in Akron, OH she was a true sweetheart adored by her family and many, many friends. A beautiful woman - some remember her as Miss Firestone 1940

Betty Lou had a truly beautiful soul. She was devout, patient, generous, and full of laughter and love. She was a great listener and her sweetness and positive spirit were a gift to all who knew her.

Married in 1945, Betty Lou and husband Andrew were together for fifty-five years living in. Birmingham, MI, Lake Forest, IL, and Greenwich during his forty-three-year IBM career. They retired to The Landings in Savannah, GA, where Andrew died in 2000.

Betty Lou is survived by her son James; her daughter Judy; son-in-law Jim Perkins; sisters-in-law Anne Carson and Evelyn Zerfoss; and her beloved nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on October 14, 2011 in Redding. Interment will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenwich.
