Oscar E. Kielsmeier, 88, formerly of R. 1, Newton, died Wednesday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. He had been a resident of St. Mary Home there for eight months.
He was born Jan. 20, 1888, in the Town of Centerville, son of Conrad and Caroline Kielsmeier. He attended district elementary school.
On Dec. 1, 1915, he married Elsie Bermke of Manitowoc. The couple resided on the homestead farm in the Town of Centerville. She died Feb. 27, 1972.
Mr. Kielsmeier operated the dairy and poultry farm until his retirement in1966. He moved to Manitowoc in 1975.
He was a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ, Town of Mosel, and an officer of the former St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church, Centerville.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Jess (Violet) Cook, Arcadia, Calif., Mrs. John (Caroline) Niesing, New Berlin, Mrs. Herbert (Olive) Sommer and Mrs. Vernon (Irene) Feldt, both of Sheboygan; three sons, Donnald, Sheboygan, Theodore, Ventura, Calif., William, R. 1, Newton; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Paul Linderman, Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by a son, four great-grandchildren, six brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mark UCC, Town of Mosel, with the Rev. Reuben Grosshuesch, pastor of Ebeneezer UCC, Sheboygan, officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Centerville.
Friends may call at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapels after 4 p.m. Friday and at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Kielsmeier's name for St. Mark UCC.
