Mrs. Frankie W. Ridgdill, age 86, of Oak Park, died at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Augusta on Friday morning, January 3, 1992 after a long illness. She was the widow of Herman Gaynor Ridgdill. She was a native of Emanuel County, having living there most of her life. She was a retired school teacher, landowner, and homemaker, and was a member of the Pendleton Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Dr. Janice Hamrick of Canton, Mrs. Jane Jackson of Dawsonville, and Mrs. Joy Bowen of Lilburn; two sons, Mr. Robert R. Black of Waynesboro, and Rev. H.G. Ridgdill of Oak Park; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Dora Dryden of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, January 5, 1992 at 2 PM from Pendleton Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Donnie Sutton and Rev. Lester Cochran officiating. Interment was in Pendleton Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were W.L. Findley, J.W. Gross, Roger Shaw, Mike Dryden, Robert Warnock, and Billy Ridgdill. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Black, Kaye Black, Bill Black, Greg Black, David Jackson, Hal Hamerick, Duston Hamerick, Brandon Bowen, and Joey Black. Jones-Stewart Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
