Nicholas Delperdang was born on the 9th day of March, 1829, in Warnach, Belgium, Europe. He came with his wife to America in 1856 and located at St. Donatus, Iowa. In the year 1873 he settled on a farm in Sioux County, where he died on February 23 of the ills coming with age.
Mrs. Delperdang died in Jackson County at Springbrook in 1872, and the widower remained single, caring with the greatest fatherly love for the 6 children who survived the mother with him. They are Mrs. Henry Ginsbach, Nic and Tony Delperdang, Mrs. Peter Schiltz, Mrs. Peter Gaul, and Mrs. Nic Ernster. There are also 49 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
