In the 1920s, Violet started another family in the Hubbard/Aurora, Oregon area. Her new husband was Chin Hin Bau aka Eddie Bau Chin. She and Eddie had the following children: Mary, Jean, Albert, Willie. Lillian, Helen, Georgianna, and Bing.
After an accident wherein a chimney stone fell on Eddie's head, he recovered physically, but was mentally impaired. On 5/22/1934, from Donald, Oregon he was sent to the Oregon State Hospital (Asylum) where he died on 12/29/1935. The cause of death was listed as "dementia praecox," an antiquated term for schizophrenia.
In her later years, Violet lived in Portland where she was known to the Hing family as "Grandma Chinn." Violet is buried in the cemetery section owned by the Chinese Benevolent Association and maintained by the Lincoln Memorial Park.
