Between 1904 and 1919, Violet had eight children with Quong Hing, a Marion County, Oregon hop farmer and Chinese immigrant. His given name was Luo Chang Rong. He was from Gi-Wei (Village), Taishan (City). He died in 1919. He was married to Mrs. Quong Hing (1861-1926) whose name was Luo (married name) Wu (maiden name) Gui Lian. Violet was the birth-mother for the following Hing children: Joe John, Bessie, Harry, Tom, Nam Law, Mary, Rose and Frank.

In the 1920s, Violet started another family in the Hubbard/Aurora, Oregon area. Her new husband was Chin Hin Bau aka Eddie Bau Chin. She and Eddie had the following children: Mary, Jean, Albert, Willie. Lillian, Helen, Georgianna, and Bing.

After an accident wherein a chimney stone fell on Eddie's head, he recovered physically, but was mentally impaired. On 5/22/1934, from Donald, Oregon he was sent to the Oregon State Hospital (Asylum) where he died on 12/29/1935. The cause of death was listed as "dementia praecox," an antiquated term for schizophrenia.

In her later years, Violet lived in Portland where she was known to the Hing family as "Grandma Chinn." Violet is buried in the cemetery section owned by the Chinese Benevolent Association and maintained by the Lincoln Memorial Park.
