A graveside service will be 2 pm Monday October 10, 2011 at Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie. The family will receive friends for 1 hour before the service at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.
Ted was born January 14, 1919 in Tonganoxie, KS, the son of Mortimer and Grace (Courtney) Duncanson. He was a 1937 graduate of Tonganoxie Rural High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1940 and served in the Pacific Theater 1942-1944. He was honorably discharged as First lieutenant in 1958. He was a member of Plumbers Local #8, Kansas City; he worked as a Master Plumber and Estimator in the Kansas City area. He established Duncanson Plumbing & Heating in 1969 and moved back to Tonganoxie in 1972. He was a member of the Tonganoxie United Methodist Church, VFW Post 9271 and a life member of the Tonganoxie Historical Society. As Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Historical Society, he was very active in the development of the current historical site, and moving the schoolhouse to its basement foundation. He was united in marriage on December 10, 1948 in Kansas City, MO, to Vera Neill, who preceded him in death on May 29, 2011. Six brothers, and three sisters also preceded him in death.
Survivors include; One daughter, Karen & husband Graham Grainger, Overland Park, KS; one sister, Mildred Cook, Ottawa, KS; and 1 grandson, Andrew Grainger.
