Professional Hockey Player. Breistroff was born in 1971 in Roubaix, France. He played hockey for the Harvard University team of Harvard Crimson in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), from 1990 to 1991, 1991 to 1992, 1992 to 1993, and 1994 until he graduated in 1995. In 1995 he joined the France team of HC Amiens Somme. In 1996 he played for the team in the World Championship. On July 17, 1996, Breistoff was killed along with 230 people on the TWA Flight 800 New York to Paris, France, flight, which exploded over the Atlantic Ocean, south of Marches Inlet, Long Island, New York, shortly after takeoff from the John F. Kennedy Airport. In 1996 his #27 jersey was retired for good by the team of HC Amiens Somme. He was only 25 years old.
