Frances A. Alletson, ex-Plainfield official
Frances A. Alletson, 55, of 49 Hawley St. died Wednesday at home. She was the town treasurer from 1978. She was a selectman in 1976-82, and town clerk in 1972-76. She also was secretary to the Board of Selectmen. She was a school bus driver for C.B. Liebenow Inc. for 17 years. Born in Windsor, Vt., she was a graduate of Frontier Regional High School in South Deerfield. She lived here for 28 years. She leaves her husband, three sons, a daughter, two sisters, and four grandchildren. The funeral will be this afternoon in the Congregational Church, with burial in Hilltop Cemetery. Smith-Kelleher Funeral Home in Shelburne Falls is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Hospice, 164 High St., Greenfield, 01301, or the Plainfield Recreation Committee, in care of Paula King, Plainfield, 01070.
