Nancy and her husband William were married about 1797 in Abbeville, South Carolina. Family lore is that Nancy was a "consort" of William, meaning not married by a preacher.

The photo is of an old unlabeled tintype from a family album. While not 100% certain that this is Nancy Drake Collins, tintypes were popular when she was in her eighties, and other evidence points to it being Nancy.

Nancy's Parents were Thomas and Mary Dunn Drake of South Carolina. Little is known about her parents and relatives.

Children of William and Nancy
John Smith (1799—1864)
Mary (1801—1883)
Nancy (1810—after 1850)
William Franklin (1812—1893)
James B. (1815—1867)
