Thomas Taliaferro, 96, of Liberty City, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at his home.

Thomas Taliaferro was born April 30, 1915 in Overton, Texas, son of the late John Dickerson and Lillie Mae Taliaferro.

Thomas was a longtime member of the First Pentecostal Church in Kilgore. Mr. Taliaferro was an electrician; he worked for Petroleum Electric and later for Pruett Electric. Thomas was a member of the local IBEW. He loved to work in his garden and especially enjoyed growing tomatoes and blackberries.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Taliaferro of Liberty City; son, Dean Taliaferro and wife Mary Lou of Liberty City; daughters, Nancy Joyner and husband Tom of Willis, Texas and Jackie Cale and husband Ronald of Porter, Texas; sister, Rosa Letsinger of Henderson; 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Taliaferro was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Larry Walton and Mike Taliaferro; brothers, Henry, Neal and John Taliaferro.
