Henry was born in Amsterdam Holland, of German speaking parents, and immigrated with his parents and a sibling in 1854.

One of the highly esteemed pioneers of Centerville, Mr. Heinrich Dehne, was called away by death on Thursday morning 2 o'clock at home with his daughter, Mrs. Herman Monk, at the age of 80 years. The deceased was born on 6th of March 1847, at Amsterdam in Holland and at the age of 6 years came to America.

For 60 years he took over the farm in northern Town of Centerville, which he operated until recently. On 15th of December 1870, Mr. Dehne and Miss Louise Zurheide from Sheboygan were bound in marriage. The wife died 14 years ago and he is survived by 11 children, 31 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The children are Mrs. Ernst Grotegut, Mrs. Herman Monk, Mrs. Aug. Hintz and Mrs. Arthur Gabsch in the Town of Centerville, Mrs. William Stock in Newton, Mrs. Erwin Gabsch in Sheboygan, Charles in Centerville, Heinrich in Medford, William and Edward in Colby and Peter in Newton. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, 1 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Reformed Church on the Town Line. Father Funk officiated.
