Clarissa Norton married Joel B. Curtis. They had the following children: Charles A. (1825-1825), Alfred Norton (1827-1884), Frederick (1830-1855) and Clarissa (1832-1835).

Clarissa and Joel raised a child Elizabeth McDonald who was an orphan.

An excerpt from the History of Mercer County states Mr. and Mrs. Curtis were the parents of several children, all born in Mercer, but only two grew to maturity; Alfred Norton and Frederick. All are buried in the same location.

It is unknown when Elizabeth came to live with the Curtis family. It's possible she was a relative, but that cannot be confirmed as of this writing.

Elizabeth must have been loved. There are many business transactions between the Curtis and Keefer's. Elizabeth and her husband also named some of their children after Clarissa and Joel.

Joel Curtis and Clarissa Norton bloodline ended with their son Alfred, he never married.
