Delbert Harris, 1204 Fairlane, former owner and operator of the Scott City Grain Co., Scott City, died at 10:05 Sunday morning in a hospital here. He had suffered a heart attack two weeks ago. Mr. HARRIS was born Dec. 12, 1914, at Pocahontas, Ark. He was 55 years old. He spent his childhood in Morley and was a graduate of Morley High School. Mr. HARRIS also attended State College here. He was associated with the Scott City Grain Co. many years and was most recently employed as a timber buyer for IXL Handle Manufacturing Co. of Bernie. Mr. HARRIS (the son of Martin Roof HARRIS and Amanda Nearns HARRIS) had been a resident of this city 12 years, moving here from Benton. He was a member of the Benton United Methodist Church. On May 18th, 1941, he married the former Miss Jewel CANNON at Jackson. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Miss Mary Lou HARRIS, at home; his Mother, Mrs. Amanda HARRIS, Morley; a brother Lowell HARRIS, Anderson, Ind., and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche TRAW, Morley, and Mrs. Katie PYRON, Los Angeles, CA. The body is at the Ford and Sons Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 tonight. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Ray Trotter, Pastor of Centenary United, Methodist church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. George Hufstetter of Morley. Burial will be in Forrest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley.
