LELAND – Funeral services for Dorothy June Caudle Gower, 91, of Leland were at 3 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

She died, Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at her home in Leland. Burial was in Leland-Stoneville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.

She was the daughter of Eddie Wright Caudle and Cora Lee Caudle. She a native of Caruthersville, Mo. and attended public school in Braggadocio, Mo. In 1936 she moved to the Mississippi Delta and in 1937 she married Joseph Wilburn Gower making their home near Leland where they were engaged in farming until Mr. Gower's death in 1974. In 1981 she made her home in New Orleans, La., then moved to Jackson, Tenn., in 1987. She returned to Leland in 1994. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Leland.

She is survived by her daughter, Louise G. Etheridge of Leland; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from 2 until 3 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
