Barger Funeral Sunday
Mrs. Doxie H. Barger, of Acworth, died in a local hospital Friday after a long illness.
She was a native of Bartow County and was the widow of the late William E. Barger. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. W.D. Howell, Mrs. Alice Stephenson and Mrs. Lonnie Armstrong, all of Cartersville; Mrs. Rebecca Poole, Acworth; and Mrs. Christine Lee, Shannon; a son Lonnie H. Barger, Atlanta; a sister, Mrs. Nevada Abernathy, Cartersville; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Walton Abernathy in charge. Interment was in the old Macedonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joey Abernathy, Donald Gravley, Bill and Paul Poole, Terry and Larry Mitchell.
