Helen Rutledge Dies Monday At Chicago Home

Miss Helen Rutledge, 85, a former well known resident of Sycamore and a sister of Mrs. James Ryan of this city, passed away Monday at a Chicago rest home. She had been in failing health since suffering a stroke some time ago.
She was born in South Grove Township October 15, 1873, the daughter of Patrick Rutledge and Mary Hayes Rutledge. She attended Sycamore schools and taught in the Malta schools for several years, later attending the Dixon Business College, and was a public accountant for many years. She retired some 20 years ago. The home had been made in Chicago for over 50 years.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. A. P. Theiss of Bellwood, Mrs. M. J. Wheeler of Oak Park, Mrs. James Ryan of this city and Jane Rutledge, also of Oak Park; and a brother, James of Clare. Three brothers and a sister predeceased her.
The funeral services are being held at 10 a.m. this Friday from the St. Catherine's Church on Ashland Boulevard, Chicago, with her nephew, Father George Wheeler, being the celebrant of the Mass. Burial will be in the Mount Carmel cemetery in Sycamore about 1 o'clock this afternoon.
The Rosary was recited Thursday evening in the Smith Undertaking Parlors at 17 Madison Street and Ashland Blvd., where friends called until time of service.
