ZILLA H. STOCKMEIER
Mrs. Fred Stockmeier, 77, of 2006 S. Ninth St., Manitowoc, died Thursday
evening at Memorial Hospital, Sheboygan.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church,
Town of Newton, the Rev. Norman Hoeflinger officiating. Burial will be in
St. John Cemetery, Centerville.
She was born Zilla Rodewald Dec. 18, 1884, daughter of the late F. Adolph
and Elsie Tasche Rodewald. She was married to Fred Stockmeier May 20, 1909,
at Newton and lived on a farm in that area until her husband died in 1944.
She moved to Manitowoc in 1947. She was a member of the Ladies Aid of the
Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church.
Surviving are two sons, Reinhold Stockmeier of Manitowoc and the Rev. Leonard
Stockmeier of Colton, S.D.; three daughters, Mrs. Allyn (Florence) Heinz and
Mrs. Warren (Ruth) Hopkins of Manitowoc and Mrs. Herbert (Althea) Lorfeld of
Cleveland, Wis.; a brother, Paul Rodewald of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Mrs.
William Montgomery and Miss Hattie Rodewald of Sheboygan and nine grandchildren.
Three sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, until 12 noon Sunday when the casket will be moved to the church
where the body will lie in state until time of service.
