Obituary
Alice Marie (Paschen) Stockmeier, age 90, a resident of Tucson, AZ, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the Tucson Medical Center Hospice in Tucson, AZ.

The youngest child of the late William and Marie Rice Paschen, Alice was born on June 13, 1916 in Kaukauna, WI. She attended elementary and high school in Kaukauna and graduated from the Appleton Business College and the Outagamie County Normal School. For a few years she was employed at the Kaukauna Public Utility. She then continued her education at the Mission House College (now Lakeland College) for 2 years, and then graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1945.

She taught at the vocational school in Green Bay and later received an appointment to teach at Mission House College in the English department. It was there that she met Leonard Stockmeier, a student at Mission House Seminary. They were married on June 17, 1950 at Immanuel Reformed Church in Kaukauna. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Gail Frances Jansen, and a son, Craig Allen Stockmeier.

She faithfully assisted her husband in his pastorates in Campbellsport, WI, Hosmer, S.D., Colton, S.D., Sheboygan, WI, Phoenix, AZ, Corsica, S.D., and Prairie City, IA. Over the years, Alice's vibrant faith in Christ was reflected in joyful service in church life as a Sunday school teacher, Bible study leader, soprano soloist, choir member and choir director. Her gracious hospitality to friends, church members, visitors and family was legendary. Alice was gifted in arts and crafts. She enjoyed travel all over the world. Her marvelous dry sense of humor was enjoyed by family and friends. She taught college English, high school and junior high school English, elementary school, and her personal favorite, kindergarten. She worked at various office jobs and concluded her career as an administrative assistant in the Arizona Highway Department equal employment office.
