Florene Stillions
October 1, 1932 - October 13, 2011

Florene Stillions, 79, of Bolivar went to be with her Lord Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011. Florene was born Oct. 1, 1932, in Stockton.

She married her beloved husband, Admiral Stillions, on Nov. 7, 1953. Florene was a wonderful and caring wife and mother to her three children — her sons, Jesse and Edward, daughter Alma and foster daughter Merralinda "Buddy."

Throughout the years many others came to think of her as "mom." Florene and her family spent many years in Cupertino, Calif., before she and husband Admiral retired in Stockton in 1997.

She is well known for her pies, potato salad and iced tea. She loved to entertain and make dinner for her family and friends. If Florene was around, no one ever went hungry. She was a prayer warrior and prayed always for her family and friends. She was a true Christian woman and lived a Christian life.

Florene was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Glenice Peach of Stockton.

The surviving family members include her husband, Admiral; her sons, Jesse Stillions and wife Barbara of Carlsbad, Calif., and Edward Stillions and wife Violet of Morrisville; and her daughter, Alma Patterson and husband Dave of Las Vegas, Nev. She is also survived by four sisters, Elvena Warner of Stockton, Ella Mae Markel and husband John of Virginia Beach, Va., Idella LaRocca and husband Samuel of Bolivar and Sharon Norman and husband Wendell of Springfield; two brothers, Bill "Leroy" Peach of Fair Play and Leland Peach and wife Brenda of Cartersville; four grandchildren, two foster grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

She was greatly loved and will be missed by all.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Brumback Funeral Home in Stockton. A celebration of Florene's life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Stockton Assembly of God with burial at Gum Springs Cemetery.
