In September 1858 she was "disowned for marrying contrary to discipline" by the Quaker Milford Monthly Meeting House in Wayne County, Indiana.

Her obituary in the Richmond (IN) Sun newspaper on January 23, 1896 says "died after a severe prostration for two months or more caused mostly by over exertion from waiting on her mother-in-law who died at her house about the time she was taken sick". It states she is being buried in East Cemetery in Dublin, Wayne County, Indiana.

The only markers in the family plot are her husband's (A Civil War marker) and one for her daughter Hattie. I probed the area in 2015 and was not able to definitively locate any other graves.
