Cyril G. Svatek, age 74, of 1362 N. 16th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004 at his residence in the presence of his family.
Cyril was born March 23, 1930 in Grimms, son of the late Wenzel and Agnes Dvorachek Svatek. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, class of 1949. Cyril was a veteran of the United States Infantry in Germany from 1950 to 1955. On July 20, 1973, he married the former Greta Dehne in Manitowoc. Cyril was employed with Invincible Metal Furniture Company of Manitowoc for 43 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of AMVETS Post #99 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife: Greta Svatek, Manitowoc; his children: Jeffery Marshek, Brandon, Fla.; Doreen and John Cavanaugh, Manitowoc; Mark Marshek, Mishicot; three grandchildren: Crystal (Jaron) Stone, Hudson; Tammy Cavanaugh, Manitowoc; John Cavanaugh, Manitowoc; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Eugene and Florence Svatek, Whitelaw; Wenzel and Fay Svatek, Two Rivers; and two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law through marriage: Marlene and Clarence Meneau, Kellnersville; Garnet LaRocque, Rockwood; and Ronald and Sharon Dehne, Edmond, Okla. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and good buddies, Eli and Tom of Manitowoc.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date with burial of the cremated remains at St. John Reformed Cemetery, Newton.
Memorials would be appreciated to the Manitowoc Humane Society.
