In the 1850 U.S. Census, Hannah and her 3 siblings, along with her parents and paternal Grandmother Lydia Humphries, were living on a farm in Corinna, Penobscot, Maine. The 1860 U.S. Census has the family living on a farm in Brooks, Waldo, Maine. Between 1860 and 1870 the family made their final move to Township 5 (Smyrna Mills), Aroostook, Maine. It was here that Hannah met her first husband, John E. Gerrish, the middle child of Samuel Gerrish and Mary Jane Wallace.
John and Hannah were married on 08 Jul 1867 at Hannah's family home in Smyrna Mills. The 1870 U. S. Census has John and Hannah living on the farm of Leward Clough, still in Township #5. Soon after, John became partners with Asa Hall, who was Hannah's 1st cousin. John and Hannah moved onto the farm with Asa and his wife, Nina, in Dyer Brook, Aroostook, Maine. Here Hannah and John became the parents of 5 children: Maud (1870-1949), Jesse (1875-1940), May Viola (1878-1898), Addie (1880-1933) and Owen Theodore (1890-1964).
The 1880 U.S. Census shows that John, Hannah and 3 of their 5 children are living on the farm in Dyer Brook, with Asa, Nina and their son.
John tragically passed away in 1894, from a "disease of the heart", leaving Hannah to with her children. The 1900 U.S. Census lists Hannah, now a widow, still living with her cousin (and future husband Asa Hall. Only her youngest son, Owen T. is still living with her.
By 1910, Hannah has moved next door to Asa's farm. Living with Asa and his wife are 2 of Hannah's married children, Addie Hughes and family and Owen Gerrish and family.
Hannah and Asa were married on 28 Jun 1913 in Dyer Brook, after the death of his wife. The two continued to live on his farm until Asa's death in 1931. Hannah L. Gardner Gerrish Hall died on 13 Apr 1940. She is buried in Dyer Brook Cemetery, next to her second husband Asa Hall and his first wife, Nina Randal Hall. Buried nearby are her fist husband, John and her children and their spouses.
