The family lived in the area of Prussia that is now part of Poland and not Germany. The parents were married and Malvina along with all of her siblings were baptized in Bromberg Stadt, Posen, Preußen aka Bromberg, Posen, Prussia, now Bydgoszcz, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Poland.

When they arrived in New York, their previous residence was listed as Zawada, Preußen now: Zawada, Bydgoszcz, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Poland.
