John Bidwell, Jr., s. John Bidwell, Sr. and Sarah Wilcox (q.v. Wilcocks), b. circa 1648 at Hartford, Conn. Thomas Welles, the immigrant patriarch of the Welles family of Connecticut. She d. at Hartford shortly before Mar. 7, 1708/09, her youngest child then only 17 years old.

Sarah m. 2) May 3, 1739 as his 2nd wife, her distant cousin Capt. Thomas Welles of Wethersfield, s. Capt. Robert Welles and Elizabeth Goodrich, b. in May 1676. He d. Dec. 3, 1741.
