Civil War Confederate Officer. Weightman served as a Colonel with the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He was killed during the Battle of Wilson's Creek, near Republic, Missouri, on August 10, 1861. Before the war he had served as a Delegate to the United States Congress from New Mexico Territory in 1851.
