Funeral of Gus Sievers
A large concourse of relatives and friends of the family gathered at the Sievers residence, 410 South Cleburn street, at 2 p.m., Friday, to pay their last tribute of respect to the late Gustave Sievers, former Hall county sheriff, impressive funeral rites for whom were conducted by A. E. Fehrenkamp, reader of the First Christian church of Christ, Scientist. Several very appropriate solos were rendered by Mr. Harry Paulsen. Members of the Plattdeutsche Verein and the Sons of Herman, with both of which he had been affiliated, attended the services in a body, a large number of county officials also being present. The active pallbearers were A. E. Cady, B. J. Cunningham, Emil Wolbach, C. E. Grundy, Richard Buenz, and Fred Hilmer. Honorary pallbearers were: John Reimers, J. D. Martin,Sr., R. R. Horth, August Meyer, A. B. Newell and Otto Mattke. Burial took place in the Grand Island cemetery.
