W.H. Hartley, Garden City Resident Dies.
William Henry Hartley,87, resident of the Garden City area since 1908, died Sunday.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Garden City with the Rev. Earl E. Lewis, pastor, and the Rev. G. Seim, officiating.

The body will be at the Shaw-Messer Chaper until 1 p.m. Wednesday when it will be taken to the church, where it will be in state until services. Burial will be in the Garden City cemetery.

Mr. Hartley was born Nov. 19, 1866, in Peoria, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hartley. He grew to manhood in Nebraska and on March 16, 1887, he married Ida Mae Mosberger. In 1908, they came to a farm northeast of Garden City, where they lived until 1945, then began living in Garden City.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Robert and Cecil of Garden City, and Jesse of Henry; five daughters, Mrs. Lucy Hughes, Vermillion; Mrs. Iva Young, Watertown; Mrs Vernon Young, Watertown; Mrs. Elsie Fogel and Mrs Rose Lund, both of Wallace; three brothers, Charley of Julesburg, Colo.,Warren and Grover, both of Carleton, Neb; a sister, Mrs. Anna Snyder, Belvidere, Neb,; 31 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren and 80 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
